Instarecall Privacy Policy
Instarecall is an Android app provided by CTF Designs. This policy explains how the app handles information.
Information the app stores
Instarecall stores the information needed to create and manage your reminders, including links and text you share to the app, reminder type, due time, notes, and completion status.
Local storage and optional cloud features
Instarecall works without an account and stores reminders locally on your device by default. If you choose to create an account or enable cloud backup, multi-device sync, shared spaces, or calendar synchronization, the app processes the information needed to provide those features. This may include your email address, account identifiers, reminders, notes, due dates, completion status, shared-space membership, synchronization metadata, and calendar-event data.
Google user data
If you connect Google Calendar, Instarecall requests access only to the Google Calendar permissions shown on Google's consent screen. The app uses Google user data to display, create, update, delete, and synchronize calendar events that you direct Instarecall to manage. Instarecall does not use Google user data for advertising, profiling, or unrelated purposes.
Instarecall's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs complies with the Google API Services User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements.
Who receives data and why
CTF Designs does not sell Google user data or other Instarecall personal data. We share, transfer, or disclose data only in the following limited circumstances:
- Google: Calendar requests and changes are sent to Google Calendar solely to provide the calendar features you request.
- Supabase: If you enable an account or cloud features, Supabase provides authentication, database hosting, backup, and synchronization infrastructure on our behalf. Supabase processes only the data necessary to provide those services under contractual and security obligations.
- People you choose: If you join or create a shared space, the reminders and related information you intentionally place in that space are disclosed to the other members you authorize.
- Legal and safety disclosures: We may disclose information when required by law, legal process, or a valid government request, or when reasonably necessary to protect users, the public, CTF Designs, or the security and integrity of Instarecall.
- Business transfer: If CTF Designs or Instarecall is involved in a merger, acquisition, reorganization, or sale of assets, information may be transferred as part of that transaction subject to this policy and applicable law. Users will be notified of any material change in control or use of their data.
We do not allow humans to read Google user data unless you give explicit permission for support, it is necessary for security or abuse investigation, or disclosure is required by law. We do not transfer Google user data to advertising platforms, data brokers, or generalized artificial-intelligence or machine-learning models.
Notifications
If you grant notification permission, Instarecall schedules local notifications on your device for reminders you create. You can disable notifications at any time in Android settings.
Third-party links and apps
Instarecall can receive links or text through Android's sharing features and can open saved links in the appropriate browser or app. Those third-party services operate under their own privacy policies. Instarecall is not affiliated with Instagram, Meta, TikTok, YouTube, Reddit, or other third-party platforms.
Analytics, advertising, AI training, and data sales
Instarecall does not include advertising, analytics SDKs, or tracking SDKs. CTF Designs does not sell personal information, use it for targeted advertising, or use Google Workspace API data to develop, improve, or train generalized artificial-intelligence or machine-learning models.
Permissions and your choices
Instarecall may request notification permission so it can alert you when reminders are due. It receives content you explicitly share through Android's sharing interface. Google Calendar access is optional and begins only after you choose to connect an account and approve Google's consent screen. You may disconnect Google Calendar in the app and may revoke access at any time through your Google Account permissions.
Data retention and deletion
Locally saved items remain on your device until you delete them, clear the app's storage, or uninstall Instarecall. Data used for optional cloud features is retained while your account or the applicable shared feature remains active and as needed to provide synchronization, recovery, security, and legal compliance. When you delete an item, synchronized deletion records may be retained temporarily so offline devices do not restore it.
You may disconnect Google Calendar or revoke its permission at any time. You may request deletion of account and cloud data by emailing roman@ctfdesigns.com. We will delete or de-identify data unless retention is required by law, security, fraud prevention, dispute resolution, or enforcement of agreements.
Children's privacy
Instarecall is not directed to children under 13, and CTF Designs does not knowingly collect personal information from children through the app.
Security
Instarecall uses Android's application sandbox to protect local data and applies access controls to optional cloud data. OAuth credentials and session tokens are treated as confidential credentials and are not sold or used for advertising. No method of electronic storage or transmission is completely secure, so you should avoid saving highly sensitive information in reminder notes.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when Instarecall's features or data practices change. We will post the updated policy here with a revised effective date and provide any additional notice required by law.
